OBJECTIVES

Improve MV and LV grid observability in rural areas.

Ease up deployment of RES in rural areas.

Create an regional industry for rural smart grid technologies.

Set up a “share data”.

Reach out to communities and speed up energy transition.

Further development needed before roll out

Testing of a prototype “connected” and “integrated” outage light indicator to improve outage management in MV (communications device integrated to the light indicator).

Development of 3G non-intrusive and connected measurement sensors (as well as low-speed radio technology for outage alarms) for LV feeders.

Development of an innovative model for predictive maintenance and grid outage anticipation in rural areas, eg in case of extreme climate hazards.

Data sharing platform for third-parties (flooding sensors linked to city council house for better flood management, sunlight sensors linked to a research lab for better PV forecasting within a LV substation’s radius).

Experimenting of the flexibility activation process, improvement of technical and economic ranking functions and technical tools.

Conception and development of new tools to activate local generation, 3G connected metering of power generated (DEIRP dispositive – information exchange and power regulation device).

Testing of LV generators power regulation.
